About Samuel Poghisio
Samuel Losuron Poghisio is a Kenyan politician and the current senator of West Pokot County . He belongs to the United Republican Party – URP and was previously a member of the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya and was elected to represent the Kacheliba Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2007.He was first elected to the parliament in 1988, and also in 1997 and 2002. Until 2007 elections he represented the KANU party. He lost his seat in the 2013 elections to Mark Lomunokol in the party nominations.
Samuel Poghisio Education Background
He went to Makerere University,Uganda in the years 1978 to 1982 and later in 1985 he studied at Daystar Universityin Kenya and graduated in 1987. In 1989 he went to wheaton College where he pursued MA Communication before proceeding to Lincoln University to in 1991 to study M. Div Philosophy/Theology and graduated in 1992.

Samuel Poghisio Political Career
He has been a Coalition Member Starting from 13th February 2013 of Jubilee Alliance. He was a Member of United Republican Party (URP) Starting from January 2013 for West Pokot. He is the Senator for West pokot Having won the 8th August 2017 election on a Kenya African National Union party ticket. From the year 2008 to 4th March 2013 he was the Cabinet Minister for Information and Communication. Poghisio also served as Member of Parliament from 2008 → 4th March 2013 for Kacheliba.
