About Samuel Poghisio

Samuel Losuron Poghisio is a Kenyan politician and the current senator of West Pokot County . He belongs to the United Republican Party – URP and was previously a member of the Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya and was elected to represent the Kacheliba Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2007.He was first elected to the parliament in 1988, and also in 1997 and 2002. Until 2007 elections he represented the KANU party. He lost his seat in the 2013 elections to Mark Lomunokol in the party nominations.

He went to Makerere University,Uganda in the years 1978 to 1982 and later in 1985 he studied at Daystar Universityin Kenya and graduated in 1987. In 1989 he went to wheaton College where he pursued MA Communication before proceeding to Lincoln University to in 1991 to study M. Div Philosophy/Theology and graduated in 1992.

He is the Senator for West pokot Having won the 8th August 2017 election on a Kenya African National Union party ticket. From the year 2008 to 4th March 2013 he was the Cabinet Minister for Information and Communication. Poghisio also served as Member of Parliament from 2008 → 4th March 2013 for Kacheliba.

Charles Ngusya Nguna

Wiper candidate Charles Ngusya Nguna won Mwingi West Constituency MP in Kitui County contest. He is a Member of Wiper Democratic Movement and a Coalition Member of National Super Alliance. Nguna was announced winner with 14,818, defeating incumbent Bernard Kitungi who got 8,594 votes. Narc’s Koki Musau had 10,987 votes, Munyoki Mwangangi (independent) had 3,642, Jubilee’s Mwende Mwinzi garnered 1,308, Bishop Robert Mutemi got 938 and Muungano Party’s Mukonza Mwangangi had 638.

He is the founder and patron of Charles Nguna Foundation. He was born on 24th December 1987 in a remote village of Kiio, in the semi-arid areas of Mwingi District then Kitui District. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nguna were peasant farmers who also ran a retail shop to supplement their livelihoods.

Mr. Ngusya began his primary school education in 1993 at Kiio Primary School, seven kilometers away from his home. Like other pupils in that remote and poor part of the country, Charles walked to and from school every day, often bare-footed.

In 1997, Charles Ngusya Nguna passed his primary education examinations and was admitted to Migwani Secondary School in 1998. He worked hard to achieve exemplary performance in school.

Charles Ngusya Nguna secured a job at Internet Solutions Kenya as a Finance officer. He then started working with Etihad Airlines. Charles being a man that loves sports has been involved himself in a local football team where he played to a high level due to the passion he has for the game.

This has also lead to him sponsoring a Local Football League namely Nguna Cup. This entailed competitions among several teams from the entire Mwingi West Constituency. The winning team was awarded the Nguna Cup and also a handsome amount of cash.

Rachael Kaki Nyamai Biography

Rachael Nyamai was born on 28 August 1976 in Kitui County. She is the Member of Parliament for Kitui South Constituency in Kitui County. He is a Member of National Rainbow Coalition and a Coalition Member of Jubilee.

She was elected to the 11th Parliament in March 2013 on a NARC party ticket in the Jubilee Coalition. Her predecessor to the same seat is Issac Mulatya Muoki.

In the National Assembly she is a member of Liaison Committee, House Business Committee and Departmental Committee on Health.

Rachael Kaki Nyamai has spoken 1098 times in Parliament since March 2013.

Education

Rachael Kaki Nyamai was a Primary School student at Kyatune Primary School. She afterwards joined Muthale girls high school for her Secondary School education.

She Joined Kenyatta University for her Bachelor of Education Degree and later Sociology of Education degree. In 2010, she attained her PhD in Global Health at the University of Aarhus, Denmark.
